WHAT MAKES APOGEE NOVA SPECIAL?

Project Based learning

The young heroes at Apogee Nova are immersed in experiential learning guided by Socratic discussions that foster teamwork, information synthesis and active engagement. Project based learning (PBL) encourages students to take ownership over their learning journey. Learners engaged in PBL have been shown to outperform those in non-PBL settings in academic testing and essential life skills.

Mixed Age Studios

Learners are encouraged to fail enthusiastically, take risks, and dream big as they mentor and collaborate with others of varying ages and skill levels. In mixed aged studios, heroes work towards skill mastery at their own pace.

core academic skills

Master core academics such as reading, writing, and math while developing skills that optimize emotional regulation, social interactions, leadership abilities, health, and real-world problem-solving. Parental involvement is highly encouraged and integral to the success of our heroes. Parents receive complimentary access to our year-long transformative programs, Apogee Man and Apogee Woman. We also host unique opportunities for fellowship and support with parents and the Apogee NOVA team, and meet with families regularly for feedback.

Free and guided play are cornerstones of our process where heroes will advance their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical abilities. Hero’s will learn that freedom comes from responsibility and to value the power of a community centered around respect, integrity, and collaboration.

socratic discussions

The Socratic Method involves a shared dialogue between the coach and learners. The coach leads by posing thought-provoking questions. The focus is not on the learners statements but on the value system that underpins their beliefs, actions, and decisions. Learners will elevate their critical thinking, social interaction, and problem-solving abilities in this shared dialogue.

health

Physical, Mental, and Emotional Health are cornerstones here at Apogee Nova. Health is our foundation. Heroes will learn about and engage in a holistic approach to life. Topics like movement, recovery, nutrition, mindset, and emotional regulation are modeled and interwoven into the fabric of the day.
